Lighthouse was founded in 2020 with a bold vision: to revolutionise housebuilding and usher in a new era of quality, sustainability and speed. Housebuilding hasn’t changed in over a century – we believe that this is the moment for change, and we are determined to be at the forefront of it.
At Lighthouse we do things differently: we are a timber-framed modular manufacturer and offer both bespoke and standardised homes. We build houses, apartments and bungalows (and occasionally bird observatories). We are a growing company working hard to constantly improve quality, sustainability and delivery for our clients.
Launching in 2020 had its challenges – a global pandemic and extreme supply chain difficulties to name a couple. But that wasn’t the only obstacle we faced. Lighthouse was borne out of another entity which had lost its way. In 2020 we incorporated our company legal entity, IDMH Limited and launched as IDMH. Today, whilst IDMH Limited remains our legal entity, our brand is Lighthouse. Lighthouse reflects our core values of robust quality, an emphasis on homes that are well designed with respect to light and space and the company’s pioneering spirit. In 2020, with new management at the helm we set off in a very different direction: Lighthouse is transparent, client-focused and puts its people at the centre of everything we do.
We’ve made rapid progress since our early days. In 2021 we moved to a much larger facility in Sheffield and were invited to join the prestigious Sci-Tech Daresbury Innovation Centre. Our client base has expanded across the country, and we’re constantly improving our products, expertise, and technology. We’re proud to be working with more organisations than ever before and continuing to join frameworks.
